Tri-Mer Air Pollution Control Systems
AST Canada is a leading supplier of Tri-Mer Corporation Pollution Control & Odour Control Systems in Canada offering turn-key solutions for odour, pollution, noxious gas and particulate control with Tri-Mer products.
Tri-Mer Corporation is a technology leader in air pollution control, offering both dry and wet solutions to air pollution challenges.
Whirl/Wet Dust Collectors & Wet Scrubbers
Tri-Mer’s broad spectrum of wet equipment includes the Whirl/Wet dust collector, packed-bed tower scrubbers, crossflow scrubbers, chrome scrubbers, and the Tri-NOx Multi-Chem system for removal of NOx on applications involving low temperatures and high removal efficiency requirements.
Dry Catalytic Ceramic Filter System
Tri-Mer’s Catalytic Ceramic Filter system – UltraCat – is the premier dry system for simultaneously controlling multiple pollutants, including PM, SOx, and NOx. UltraCat ceramic filters are embedded with nanobits of NOx or VOC catalyst dispersed within the filter walls. Particulate (PM), SO2, HCl, metals such as chrome-6, and NOx are removed by this single, all-in-one system.
Custom Polypropylene Process Tanks
Tri-Mer has one of America’s largest fabrication facilities for PVC, polypropylene, and other plastics. Custom fabrication projects include process tanks up to 100’ in length, ventilation, ducting, workstations and enclosures.
Tri-Mer Products
Whirl Wet Dust Collectors
The Whirl Wet Dust Collections system works by infusing the dust particles with water. The unique process mixes the two through a fixed-position dual-opposed blade system. Once the dust-laden airstream and liquid are mixed, a tangential airstream is injected through the lower blade assembly to increase turbulence, after which the rotation is accelerated, droplets in the airstream are processed through a mist eliminator located downstream, and particulate material is deposited on the bottom of the unit for recovery or disposal.
Packed Bed Tower Acid & Fume Scrubbers
Tri-Mer vertical-packed bed tower scrubber systems are ideal for the efficient removal of inorganic gases, odours, and fumes.
They are well-suited as primary or secondary systems in conjunction with thermal oxidizers and are used in a series where there are multiple-contaminant gas streams such as NO2, Cl2, SO2, also acid fumes, including H2SO4, HCl, HNO3, and HF
Crossflow Industrial Wet Scrubbers
Crossflow industrial scrubbers maintain stack emissions to specific ppm levels for all input concentrations.
Key to the performance of this system is high liquid flow recirculation, which provides intense contact between the contaminant and scrubbing liquid.
Applications include a broad range of manufacturing and process industries; semiconductor, metal finishing, and chemical industries generating corrosive fumes and gases also benefit from Crossflow technology.
Fan Separator Chemical Fume Scrubber
Chrome Scrubber
The Tri-Mer C/E-1 Chrome Scrubber scrubs all chrome including Cr6 & Cr3 regardless of input loading. It’s all-mechanical pad system design does not use chemicals or generate waste yet has no internal moving parts that can wear. The C/E-1 is scalable for any facility or process size.
Cloud Chamber Fine Particulate Scrubber
CCS wet scrubber technology works by passing the dirty gas stream through a chamber containing a “scrubbing cloud” of high-density, charged water droplets. Inside the wet scrubber, billions of charged droplets rapidly interact with the particles in the process stream. When a particle and a droplet pass within 20 microns, electrical forces cause the particle (being less massive by orders of magnitude) to be pulled into the droplet. Each individual water droplet becomes a particle collector.
NOx Scrubbers
Tri-NOx, NOx scrubber system accommodates any combination of NO and NO2, including nitration-related NOx, which is typically high on the NO2 scale, and combustion-related NOx, which is higher in NO. Tri-Mer’s NOx scrubber guarantees a clear stack and eliminates the visible plume generated by high NO2 loading. This yellow-brown gaseous emission is generated by processes using nitric acid in conjunction with metal refining, metal finishing or chemical nitration.
Venturi Scrubber
The high-pressure venturi scrubber is a well-known method for removing fine dusts from industrial gas streams, particularly those with high humidity levels.
Tri-Mer’s venturi scrubber produces optimum acceleration of the gas, and shearing of the droplets. The resultant, larger “particle” is then removed from the gas stream and impinged on a separator downstream.
Odour Control Scrubber
Tri-Mer Odour Control Scrubber systems are ideal for continuous performance applications. Applications include chemical plants, petrochemical facilities, municipal waste treatment, asphalt manufacturing, foundries and food processing.
Tri-Mer odour control scrubbers are guaranteed to reduce odours from specific compounds that testing has identified as being present in measurable quantities and which are known to have offensive odours.
Mercury Scrubber
Tri-Mer Mercury Scrubber provides up to 99.9% reduction in Hg vapour emissions.
The Tri-Mer mercury scrubber incorporates a wet chemistry process that provides a cost-effective means of reducing all forms of mercury in emissions.
Incinerator Scrubber
Q-Scrub Incinerator Scrubber delivers scrubber efficiencies of 95-99.99%. Systems can be engineered to guarantee any outlet rating.
Most stack gas emissions requirements are based on a mass emissions standard of lbs./hr. in vs. lbs./hr. out for contaminants such as HCl, Cl2, SO2, HF, etc.
UltraScrub Acid Fume Scrubber
UltraScrub is Tri-Mer’s trade name for its cartridge-based acid fume scrubber.
UltraScrub units have four stages, arranged as a series of cartridges.
The UltraScrub acid fume scrubber systems operate “dry” at least 99% of the time. Each stage has an independent magnehelic gauge to indicate when cleaning is necessary.
Custom Fabricated Process Tanks
Tri-Mer fabricates process tanks from polyethylene, PVDF, PVC, PE, CPVC and stainless steel, in addition to polypropylene.
These process tanks are designed using the latest-generation CAD techniques and constructed using proprietary tools and processes developed by Tri-Mer. These techniques and programmable systems insure:
- full strength at all bend sites.
- the precise distribution of sidewall stresses.
- the highest integrity at corners and seams.
