Donaldson Electrical Controllers Overview
Donaldson Torit® offers a wide range of electrical control systems for your dust collector. Electrical controller systems allow dust collector operators to automate processes like pressure drop measurement, fan & motor speed and pulse-cleaning timers.
Electrical Control System: Airflow Controller with VFD
The Donaldson Torit Electrical Control System lets you automatically manage fan motor speed for your Donaldson Torit dust collector so that the fan is used only as much or as little as needed for optimum performance. The results are energy savings, longer filter life, and optimal collector performance.
Features
- Increases filter life by maintaining constant design airflow and desired minimum transport velocity
- By maintaining a constant duct velocity, dust accumulations in the duct associated with poor duct velocities diminish
- Reduces abrasion on filters and ducting generally caused by high transport velocities
- Reduces the fan motor’s energy consumption by allowing the fan motor to operate at a lower RPM while also increasing the mechanical life of the fan
- Reduces the audible noise radiating from the fan housing and fan motor since the fan is running at less than full speed
- Soft-start capabilities reduce mechanical stress and improve fan reliability

Delta P & Delta P Plus Controls
The Donaldson Torit Delta P & Delta P Plus Controls are solid-state products providing pressure drop measurement, digital display, and pressure drop control with an alarm function. Designed to provide accurate and dependable control of a pulse-cleaning timer, starting and stopping the cleaning process at the limits you choose. The Delta P and Delta P Plus are available as standard equipment on the Downflo Oval, Downflo II, Downflo WorkStations, Dalamatic®, Modular Baghouse, and Electrical Control Panels.

- Delta P Plus offers three cleaning options: differential pressure cleaning (DFF), down-time cleaning (DTC), and combined differential and down-time cleaning (ALL)
- Downtime cleaning option is available only on the Delta P Plus
- Delta P and Delta P Plus are available as standard equipment on many Donaldson Torit collectors and Electrical Control Panels
- Digital 3-character display, 15.2 mm / 0.6 in., high visibility red
- Solid-state electronics for reliability and long-term accuracy
- High, Low, and Alarm setpoints programmable from front panel
- User selected lockout feature to prevent unauthorized adjustment of setpoints
- Form C relays rated for 10 Amps at 230 VAC
- Accuracy ± 1% full scale
- Programming retained in E2PROM with no battery required
- Choice of units, inches water gauge or daPa (decaPascals)
- Jumper selected 115 or 230 VAC power
- No battery backup is required

Motor Starters
Provides on/off control for blower motors used as part of a dust collector, protecting the motor from short circuits and running overloads.
Features
- The manual motor starter relies on manual action to engage the motor starter coil
- The magnetic motor starter relies on a magnetic solenoid coil and features a control transformer with finger-safe terminals
- Lockable through-the-door disconnect
- Type (NEMA/UL) 12 enclosure
- IEC three-pole horsepower rated motor starter with short circuit and running overload protection
- Every motor starter undergoes a 100% check for appearance and function
- Single source means the collector and motor starter arrive together and are covered by the same warranty
- NC auxiliary contact for customers’ use (magnetic starter only)
