Dust Collection for Chemical Industrial Processing

Filtration for Dusty Industrial Processes Such as Material Handling, Screening & Mixing

We can design a collection system utilizing several collectors in multiple configurations & filter options to allow for a diversity of chemical processes.

Reliable Dust Collection for the Chemical Industrial Processing Sector

AST Canada supplies reliable dust collection and combustible dust mitigation solutions to fit a variety of chemical processing applications.

With several decades of experience engineering dust collection systems, AST Canada is the name you can trust above all others for solutions to dust, mist & fume collection plus fire & explosion mitigation in industrial settings.

A Variety of Options for the Chemical Industry

The chemical industry is large and diverse, and while much of it is liquid, dry products and by-products are common. Processes such as material handling, screening, mixing, etc., frequently produce dust. AST Canada supplies a variety of dust collectors in several constructions and filter options to allow the system to operate within the diverse chemical industry.

Applications

Paint

Many products require a finishing process using wet or dry paint spraying techniques. These include the spraying of solvent or water based paints and lacquers, which generate large volumes of overspray. If not extracted, fine paint particulate will contaminate both the work piece and surrounding area, they will escape into the working environment.

The combination of solvent vapours and fine particulate are highly flammable/explosive and can be dangerous to human health.

The handling of the base product requires a high level of cleanliness to guarantee top quality product.

Sieves

In many cases the material to be handled is the production product; therefore care must be taken to achieve adequate balance of dust control without removing excessive (valuable) product.

Where practical, Donaldson advocates “source collection” designs in sieving applications integrating the dust collector near to the point of dust creation. This way less ductwork and fewer discharge systems are needed which leads to lower purchase costs and lower energy consumption.
