Managing the risks of industrial dust explosions is needed in industrial facilities where explosive industrial solids are present. Typically pressure-relief devices, like explosion vents, are installed to depressurize specific areas before the pressurized equipment is damaged by explosion.
The pressure release is often accompanied by dust and flames which require a large outdoor space to be evacuated safely. Where space is constricted Rembe makes the Targo-Vent® which channels the flame front and dust on to a different vector freeing up the space in front of the explosion vent.
The Rembe Q-Box® is designed for pressure relief of areas inside the plant structure where traditional explosion vents are not enough. The Q-Box® can extract the pressure and flames from the over-pressurized areas and extinguish it in milliseconds.

With conventional explosion venting, flame propagation as well as shock waves are directed into “safe” areas, but in reality could endanger anyone located in the surrounding areas. Likewise, the typical pressure wave and noise in the production hall are reduced to a barely perceptible minimum. The filter design guarantees that no burned or combustible materials are ejected. Numerous processes can cause explosive dust/air mixtures within industrial systems (dust collectors, mixingmachines, fluid bed granulators, mills, and the like). If ignition sources cannot be eliminated due to process conditions, these systems are often equipped with explosion protection measures like venting or suppression. The Q-Bic system is suitable for indoor applications where the explosion cannot be discharged to the outside atmosphere. It extinguishes the explosion at the point of ignition. Combustions are identified and immediately suppressed due to the prompt release of dry powder in the endangered area. The dry powder extracts the heat. The explosion is inerted.
